In solidarity with Global Climate Strike, Digo Bikas Institute, Power shift NepalCliMates, Greenhood Nepal, YUWA, NYCA, Rotract Club of Kathmandu metro
HCI and TUDE organized climate Strike on 27th September at Patan Durbar Square, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Climate Strike in Patan Durbar Square was organized demanding climate justice and end of fossil fuel and demanding urgent action on climate change from rich and developed countries. Students attending the climate strike gave the speech demanding urgent climate action from global leaders and also asking government of Nepal to stop drilling of oil in Nepal.

Around 100 climate activist and students gathered at the UNESCO world heritage site in Lalitpur with banner that read “Save Mountain and Break from Fossil Fuel”, “Don’t frack our future”, “Climate Justice Now” and “System Change not Climate Change”.

Different groups in different location of Kathmandu on the last day of the global climate strike organized four events. Millions of people joined in a world wide, youth led climate strike from September 20-27, 2019. Digo Bikas Institute has been empowering youth on climate change organizing climate convergence and workshops on climate change in Kathmandu and in regional cities.
