Three days capacity building and need assessment training to Dhapsung Women group was organized at Dhapsung Village, Helambu Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk district from 1st to 3rd June 2019.
Over 30 participants from Dhapsung Women group participated in two days training on loan and cooperatives, setting of loan’s interest, strengthening of the Dhapsung Mother’s group, making savings was discussed among the members of the group. Srijana Poudel and Manju Acharya from Nari Chetna Kendra led the training sessions. In addition, discussion on issues about gender-based discrimination was also conducted during the visit.
On the last day, demonstration to prepare organic fertilizer was organized where Srijana Poudel and Manju Acharya from Nari Chetna Kendra briefed the participants on the preparation of the organic fertilizers from locally available herbs, shrubs and urine of domesticated animals like cow, buffalo and goat.
Asha maya Tamang, President of Dhapsung Women group shared, 3 days training was helpful to understand about savings and preparing organic fertilizers and also helped to build the confidence of the members of the Dhapsung Women group.
Dhapsung Women group is managing the 16 KW Dhapsung community solar micro grid which was installed after earthquake in support of Grid Alternatives.
