Thirty young enthusiasts from Chitwan and Hetauda Districts attended three days Nepal Climate Convergence held from 14th to 16th July 2017 in Hetauda. The three day extensive sessions that included presentation, group work, panel discussions interactions, documentary screening etc. on climate science, climate change impacts in Nepal, international and national climate change discourse, climate change in new state restructuring, climate organizing, Working with media, campaigning and movement building equipped the participants with knowledge and skills to carry out local level activism in their respective locality. These youths had an opportunity to enhance their knowledge with strong networking opportunities with youths from Hetauda and Chitwan to establish long-term working relationship and ground actions.

The Hetauda convergence, organized by Digo Bikas Institute was designed to ensure active youth engagement in local level to address stubborn climate change problem through awareness related actions and communicating climate change issues to ensure national attention for the immediate address of the same. The convergence also helped to bring into focus the international discourse, national plans and policies and the importance of localization of efforts to address the global climate change problem.
