
Binisha Shrestha
Binisha Shrestha is a dedicated environmental enthusiast, holds a BSc. in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University (2022). Her profound commitment to disaster resilience shines through her impactful research thesis, which focused on the “Flood Hazard Assessment of Indrawati and Tamakoshi River Basin, Nepal.” Her dedication to the cause has been exemplified through her active participation in vital initiatives, such as her role as a content specialist in the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority’s (NDRRMA) e-Learning Platform, aimed at Building NDRRMA’s capacity in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).
During her tenure as a DRR fellow at the Youth Innovation Lab, her work was based in the challenging setting of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality. She also took the role of Program Associate at the same organization. Beyond her professional roles, her passion for creating meaningful change is illuminated by her leadership as a Camp Leader at Action Nepal.
She has a technical skill in GIS, research, and project coordination that complements her holistic approach to disaster management, climate change adaptation and mitigation, urban migration, human geography, and geospatial technology. Her expertise has been further enriched through a diverse range of training programs and certifications. With a steadfast determination to contribute to a sustainable and resilient future, she aims to harness her skills for transformative and positive impact.
