Avinash Jha

Avinash leads a parallel career as a community organizer and an engineer. He has more than eight years of experience in Community Leadership.

As an Education Director of the education non-profit, United World Schools Nepal, he has been leading education development across 35 community-based schools in rural Nepal. In prior engineering career, Avinash has supervised the implementation thousand plus projects on Solar Home Systems, Solar Water Pumping for irrigation, Micro-Hydro, and Improved Cooking Stoves in rural communities of Nepal.

Along with his friends, Avinash also developed an award-winning mobile application that helps Nepal’s farming communities. In past, he has been awarded as a winner of Ncell App Camp 2014, Rec@nnect Challenge 2014, and ICT for mountain development award by ICIMOD in 2014. Furthermore, he does not shy away from volunteering his free time for any inspirational opportunity that comes his way.
